What is International Bereaved Mother's Day? "A day for any parent who has lost a child, and in particular, holding space for mothers who are grieving their children on this day." Oh how my heart wishes that there were never a need for this day. How I wish that every baby could be born happy and healthy, into the arms of love. Yeah ... A doula! As many of you may know, I am a photographer, more specifically, a birth photographer. What you may not be aware of is I am also a volunteer. I have been associated with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep since 2011. NILMDTS (for short) is a volunteer organization that offers remembrance photography, free of charge, for families suffering the loss of an infant. More recently, I became an Area Coordinator for the Kentucky area and assist with some parts of Tennessee.
